Tip of the Month- Olie or Surf Jumps
Olie or Surf Jump

When you learn an olie, it will help you to do surface tricks which will lead into doing switch jumps.
It’s not that hard but it will take a little time to learn it, then you will get used to when you ride a lot, I will explain it in 3 steps:
1- behind the boat with a low speed try to push with your legs continually ( small pushes with the front leg and then harder pushes with the back leg ) A small bunny hop is what you want to achieve.
2- when you get the right feeling of the pushing move with your legs try to make small jumps by lifting your front knee up then follow it with the back leg to level both legs up ( don’t forget the first step “pushing move” but harder ) This is when the bunny hop gets a little bit of air between the wakeboard and the water surface.
3- keep making bigger and bigger jumps and build up your confidence then you can also go outside the wake toward any side and try it in the flats. |
